Presbyterian College Launches New Website

Presbyterian College is proud to announce the launch of a new website, which went live Monday, Feb. 1, 2016. The project took three months to complete and was part of a larger rebranding of the College, which was first launched in August.

The College administration desired a new branding strategy that would more accurately reflect the College’s mission and the campus atmosphere. The College hired Pittsburgh-based BD&E Marketing, whose team developed PC’s new “Be Inspired for Life” brand strategy and, in coordination with PC’s marketing department, developed the new website.

“Our new site is the face of the brand, speaking directly to faculty and staff, our alumni base, and future and current students,” said Grady B. Jones, PC’s vice president for advancement, marketing, public relations, and communications. “The primary goal in the development of the new site is to improve our appeal to prospective students and their parents. We are excited to use this as a more engaging tool for outreach.”

The new website reflects the new branding by replacing the former tagline “Personally Committed to Your Success” with “Be Inspired for Life.” It also features updated branded images and new photography that emphasizes the College’s focus on community, academic excellence, and service. Changes were made to insure the website was user-friendly, especially for prospective students and their parents. This includes making sure the site can be used and is responsive on any mobile device. New top level navigation includes Visit, Apply, and Request Info tabs – making it easier for prospective students to find this information. There is also a new section on the site dedicated to prospective parents that includes information on campus safety, health services, tuition, and financial aid.

“Having a functioning website that shares information in a quick and concise manor is a must in today’s market – for any type of business – but especially for an institution for higher education,” said PC President Bob Staton. “In today’s educational climate, students and parents want to know first and foremost what programs we offer, what it’s going to cost, and what they are going to do when they graduate – and they want to know it before they even step on campus for a tour.”

Staton continued, “We want to make sure we catch their attention and keep it. This new brand and website showcases what’s really great about PC. We are excited for this new chapter.”

In order to continue to engage prospective students, the College is working on adding videos to the site in the near future. The new branding has also been reflected across social media formats, in radio and upcoming tv ads, and across the campus through the use of new banners and new signage. Admissions has printed and distributed new recruitment pieces.

“The imagery in the new publications paints a picture for prospective students and allows them to see the possibilities that exist at PC,” said Brian Fortman, PC dean of admissions. “There are great stories that focus on relationships our students share during their four years as they create memories and lasting friendships.”

PC Senior Erika Gotfredson said, “To me, this brand reflects what PC has provided for me during my four years here – a deeper understanding of myself and my role in the world, and inspiration to continue learning and developing even beyond my time as an undergrad.”

She continued, “ PC has inspired me for life in ways that I can’t even begin to put in words, and I feel indebted to the College for the passion for learning that my professors and classmates have stimulated within me. I think that the new website reflects this brand by reminding those who visit it how PC strives to inspire students, faculty, and staff members through all aspects of the collegiate experience.”

PC will continue to incorporate the new branding in all outreach efforts, and will begin updating the website for the PC Pharmacy School shortly – with a tentative launch in May. Work will begin on the PC library website in May or towards the beginning of summer.
