For the second year in a row, a graduate of Presbyterian College is also the top graduate at the Medical University of South Carolina.

John French, a 2003 PC alumnus, was this year's valedictorian at MUSC, where he followed in the footsteps of Julie Roach Ross, a 2002 alumna who was last year's medical school valedictorian.

French, who will pursue his ophthalmology residency at MUSC, joined five other PC alumni who graduated from MUSC this spring: Christina Ball Payne '03, who will pursue her internal medicine residency at Emory University; Ross Simril '01, who will pursue his anesthesiology residency at the University of Alabama-Birmingham; Matthew Madden '03, who will pursue his internal medicine residency at MUSC; Julie Massey '93, who will pursue her internal medicine residency at the University of Virginia; and Wesley Pye '99, who will pursue his internal medicine residency at the University of South Carolina.

Last year, Ross joined six PC alumnae - Lisa Sims Mills '02, Emily Milner Cole '02, Robyn Frederick '02, Natalka Stachiw '98, Amanda Townsend Redding '01, and Erin McBride Cannington '01 - as graduates at MUSC.
