March. 2, 2007 Presbyterian College officials cut the ribbon Thursday on the college's new bookstore - the Depot.
A large gathering of PC students, faculty, and staff braved a rainy day to see the new bookstore, which is now located at 112 Musgrove Street in downtown Clinton, and to sample offerings from the store's Jazzman's Café.
During the official dedication of the Depot, PC president Dr. John Griffith praised the partnership between the college and the City of Clinton that delivered a "quality" bookstore to be enjoyed by campus and community alike.
In his dedicatory prayer, professor emeritus Dr. Jim Skinner - a longtime driving force behind the new bookstore - asked that the Depot become a place of nurture to the "mind and spirit."
In addition to free samples from Jazzman's Café, guests enjoyed live music, free t-shirts and mugs, and the opportunity to stroll throughout the Depot and see what it offers - PC merchandise, a wide variety of books and periodicals, and a community meeting room.
