Lipford won the John Templeton prize for Journal of Private Enterprise’s article of the year, "Short Run Macroeconomic Performance and Economic Freedom." He will receive the award in April in
“While I certainly thought that the paper had merit,” Lipford said, “winning article of the year from an organization such as the Association of Private Enterprise Education, comprised of people for whom I have great respect, is a high honor.”
Lipford’s research and writing have covered many topics over the years, from free riding in churches and government budgets to property rights and economic freedom.

Young Bankers’ meeting in
"(Winning the scholarship) is a testament to the professors here at PC, and I'm glad I could represent the college in a positive light," Arant said. "It is truly a testament to how these award-winning professors prepare us. It's through scholarships like these that I am able to take advantage of a PC education."
