Presbyterian College Department of Student Life
honors annual award winners

Registered student organizations, student leaders, and college staff were honored last month for their contributions to student life at Presbyterian College.

 

The following Student Life Award winners are:

 

Service Event of the Year – Presented to the registered student organizations whose educational event includes representatives from the entire PC community in a service project.

Operation Christmas Child – Multicultural Student Union


 

Educational Event of the Year – Presented to the RSO whose educational event contributes significantly to campus life educational goals and is supported by students, faculty, and administration.

 

“Death by Alcohol: Could It Happen Here?” – Natalie Green

 


Entertainment Event of the Year – Presented to the RSO whose entertainment event contributes significantly to campus life social goals and is supported by students, faculty, and administration.

 

The Agape Ball – Multicultural Student Union

 


Recognized Student Organization of the Year – Presented to a currently chartered organization that has made a significant contribution to the life and work of the college and supports the mission and goals of the Department of Student Life and Presbyterian College.

 

Student Union Board

 


Emerging Student Leader of the Year – Presented to a currently enrolled freshman or sophomore student who has demonstrated a capacity for leadership and is committed to the mission and goals of the Department of Student Life and Presbyterian College.

 

Lauren Thomas

 


Dedicated Service and Spirit Award – Presented to a senior who has exemplified a four-year commitment to improving the quality of life at PC through involvement with campus service and social activities. This person must have served as an officer of an RSO or have participated in other significant student leadership efforts.

 

Kaley Peek

 


Advocate of the Year – Presented to a current employee outside of the Department of Student Life who demonstrates evidence of successful student advocacy and performance “above and beyond the call of duty” while serving multiple roles within the campus community. This person must also demonstrate high quality interaction with individual students and student groups in keeping with the mission and goals of the Department of Student Life and Presbyterian College.

 

Elton Pollock


Student Leader of the Year – Presented to a student who has demonstrated a high level of leadership competency, merited stature among students, faculty, and administration and is supportive of the mission and goals of the Department of Student Life and Presbyterian College.

 

Sherman Burnett

 


Staff Member of the Year – Presented to a current full-time employee, in the second or higher year of service in the Department of Student Life who has demonstrated evidence of successful student advocacy and interaction with individual students and student groups while serving “above and beyond the call of duty” in multiple roles within the campus community. This person must demonstrate a commitment to the mission and goals of the department and Presbyterian College.
