a place of discovery

"I think it is important to expand our science facilities because science and technology change so quickly and updates are not only important, but they are necessary for a successful science program. With the majority of our science major students entering graduate school, medical school, dental school, etc. the expansion is
necessary to keep PC students competitive and prepared for the next step in their education." Alyssa Tober, Class of 2007

"As a participating member of the science committee in 2001-2002, I believe that a new science facility is an essential part of PC's future. I believe that science is one of the key elements necessary for an excellent liberal arts education. A new facility will give every opportunity for PC students to participate in all elements of the scientific process and in all aspects of research -- which are so critical to a future in the sciences."
H. Stanley Reid, MD, Class of 1974

The new biology wing of Richardson Hall will place PC's outstanding biology faculty in one of the finest science facilities available at any national liberal arts college. This facility will ensure the continual cultivation and education of great servant leaders. Functional office and work areas will enhance this effort including expanded laboratories, departmental specific research areas, faculty offices, new laboratories, and student areas which promote departmental interaction, an element critical to the continuing vitality of the liberal arts.

Our faculty help impart a sense of wonder and engagement that leads to a charged intellectual atmosphere. Nowhere is this more evident than in the science departments. Here, faculty members are dedicated to raising the bar for student research opportunities and classroom instruction.
