Why join ROTC?

* The program can be completed in just two years by attending a 5-week Leadership Training Course - LTC, at Ft. Knox, KY.

* If you are interested in the Reserves or National Guard then you can complete the ROTC program in 2 years while you serve with your unit. You will also collect the stipend, book money, and full tuition.

* You'll be commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant the day you graduate and can be making the civilian equivalency of $68,000 within your first four years on active duty.

* Financial aid incentives.

* Receive a tax-free stipend

Freshman      $300/month

Sophomre     $350/month

Junior           $450/month

Senior          $500/month

Books & Supplies - $1200/yr

Scholarships Pay:

100% Tuition, Room & Board, and all mandatory fees

$1200/academic year for books & school supplies

A monthly stipend
$300 freshman
$350 sophomore
$450 junior
$500 senior

Four year scholarships are available
to high school students.

Two and three year scholarships are available
to college students.

General eligibility requirements:

To be eligible for an ROTC scholarship, you must generally:

Be between 17 and 27
Possess a high school diploma, or equivalent
Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above
Be medically qualified through DODMERB
Be able to pass the Army Physical Fitness Test
Have no moral obligations or personal conviction
that will prevent you from:

1. Supporting and defending the
Constitution of the United States
against all enemies, foreign
and domestic
2. Conscientiously bearing arms

Responsibilities of scholarship recipients:

Must make a commitment of 8 years to
military service upon college graduation
Recipients serve 4 years on Active Duty,
plus 4 years on Active or Reserve Duty
An RFD-only (Reserve Forces Duty only)
option is available
Must attend the 4-week Leadership
Development and Assessment Course
(LDAC) Usually between junior and

The President's Challenge Physical Fitness Test

Upon receipt of your application, your High School will be asked to have you take The President's Challenge Physical Fitness Test for the following areas: sit-ups (curl-ups), 1-mile run and pushups. For more information on this test, go to:

Good physical conditioning is critical and prior physical conditioning and muscle toning are essential.
