The South Carolina Independent  Colleges and Universities (http://www.scicu.org/) consortium is an organization that supports and encourages undergraduate research among member institutions. It sponsors an annual undergraduate research symposium and provides grants to conduct research.

Several PC students successfully submitted proposals this year and received funding for projects in such topics as "Microscopy as Art" and "GPS Survey of Selected Plant Populations Found in Hobcaw Barony."  These students will complete their research in December 2007 and will present their findings at the SCICU Research Symposium in the Spring of 2008.
