Presbyterian College offers an innovative honors program which helps students complete their learning experience in the classroom. Each year, the college selects freshman and upperclassmen who display the academic promise and intellectual energy to participate in this three-part honors program.
The Dean's Seminar open to 15 selected freshman, focuses on discussions of major issues in liberal arts education, values, and ethics.
Beginning in their sophomore year, students may be selected along with other upperclassmen for the Seminar in Great Ideas. Limited to 25 students, the Great Ideas seminars revolve around the contributions of history's great intellectuals and major concepts.
During their junior and senior years, students who have excelled academically may conduct original research projects with a faculty member in their major discipline. Oral and written presentations of the results of the projects are required, and students who successfully complete the program graduate with honors in their major discipline.
