Jacob K. Javits Scholarship
The Jacob K. Javits Fellowship Program is available to students of superior academic ability to undertake study at the doctoral and Master of Fine Arts level in arts, humanities, and social sciences. Jacob Javits' Congressional colleagues honored his support of education and arts by developing this program.
Students who have not yet completed their first year of graduate study or will be entering graduate school in the following academic year are eligible. Applicants must be a citizen of the U.S and accepted or currently enrolled in a graduate program leading to a doctorate or Master of Fine Arts in an eligible field of study at an institution of higher education approved by an accrediting agency approved by the Secretary of the Department of Education.
Awards are for one year and renewable for up to four years. The award is a stipend to the Fellow for 12 months of personal expenses and a payment to the institution for the Fellow's tuition and fees.
