The international studies major is an interdisciplinary program of study that prepares students with the knowledge and skills required to become responsible global citizens.

In a world that is increasingly interconnected, this program encourages students to explore the connections between disciplines to better understand and address the complex, contemporary issues and challenges of the 21st century.

The program combines traditional classroom learning, research, and experiential opportunities using an international, trans-national, and/or comparative approach. As part of the major, students must choose both a regional and thematic specialization. A semester abroad is also required for the major.
