Lesley Preston serves as Professor of Theatre at Presbyterian College and Chair of the Department of Theatre. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Theater from Dalhousie University and her Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Design from the University of Calgary. Before moving to the United States, Professor Preston worked professionally in Canada as a scenic artist and free-lance designer. Her latest professional work was with Centre Stage in Greenville, where she designed the set for Brighton Beach Memoires, Angel Street and Miracle on 34th Street. Professor Preston has always been interested in new work, either as a participant, such as her design for the world premiere of Step/Dance at Neptune Theatre in Halifax, or as a spectator attending the Edinburgh Theatre Festival to see world theatre and new works.
