Step 2. Complete the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
We encourage you to complete your FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1st. Please remember the FAFSA priority funding date for PC funds is March 15th. If you complete your FAFSA after this date, you may not be considered for full funding. South Carolina residents must also complete and submit the FAFSA on or before June 30th to be considered for a South Carolina Tuition Grant. You are also encouraged to complete the pre-application worksheet and apply for a PIN # (student and parent) prior to completing the FAFSA online. Complete your FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. PC’s School Code is 003445.
Step 3. Check your student Aid Report for accuracy
Your Student Aid Report (SAR) is valid if you have an EFC#, located on the right side of the first page. If you do not have an EFC #, please read all instructions carefully and correct. If you have a statement on your SAR such as. “Your application has been selected for a process called for verification.” Please contact our office to complete this important step. Respond promptly to any requests for corrections to your SAR or verification requests.
Step 4. Finalize your award offer
All students are notified of their financial aid award via an award notification letter. Students can then login to BannerWeb to view their award. While in BannerWeb, the student can accept/decline any loans or work study offered. All revisions to an award are notified to the student vial email and can be viewed on BannerWeb. Students will also need to pay close attention to the Student Requirements link on BannerWeb. All Student Requirements must be satisfied before the student award is final.
Step 5. Complete Promissory Note(s) and Entrance Counseling
If you are a first time Stafford or PLUS loan borrower, you should complete promissory notes for any loans you wish to accept. Students must choose their lender by visiting Presbyterian College’s suggested lender list. To ensure loan funds will appear on the student’s bill, promissory notes must be completed prior to June 30th. All first time student borrowers must complete an Entrance Interview before loan funds are released to the College. Entrance interviews can be completed at www.mapping-your-future.org or under the Student Requirements link in BannerWeb.
Step 6. Satisfy all fees owed to the College
Bills are mailed before July 15th with payment due date of approximately August 15th . Before making payment you can check your balance on Banner. You can pay your balance online by credit card.
Report all outside sources of funding. Any outside scholarships that the student receives must be reported to the Financial Aid Office and funds sent to the Business Office in order to insure that it is credited to the student account. If the outside scholarship agency requires a bill sent to them before they can release funds, contact the Business Office to have this arranged. Outside scholarships are not reflected on your award letter.
