Hi, I'm Amy Long, Assistant Director of Admissions here at PC. After graduating in May 2005 with BA in Political Science and a minor in Biology, I came back to the place I proudly call home, Presbyterian College. I hope that you will come visit me, and see if this wonderful place could be home for you as well.

I will be traveling to see many of you this year. If you live in my home state of Alabama, I am headed your way. Though my travels won't take me to you, if you live in Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, or Hawaii, I am your counselor. For the South Carolinians, contact me if you are from the county of Greenville, Richland, or Lexington. I simply cannot wait to tell you about the experiences I was fortunate enough to have during my four years at PC!

PC is more than a college campus; it's a community. Due in large part to the Honor Code, PC has a close-knit group of faculty, staff, and students that become your family during your four years here. There's a feeling of trust between students and their professors. It's an indescribable feeling when you look up from a presentation, a recital, or a grueling point in a tennis match to see one of your professors there cheering you on. This feeling is something that defines PC, and will not be a one time thing, but will happen throughout your experiences here.

My time at PC was marked with various activities. I was fortunate enough to: have a "little sister" through Student Volunteer Services, serve on the Honor Council, spend a semester in Washington, D.C., intern for Congress, meet people so much like me and so much different from me and call them both my friends, go on a 3 week camping trip to the Colorado Plateau with two of my favorite professors, be in a sorority, and even design my own course on a topic I was passionate about. As you can see, I got to be involved in things that seem to be polar opposites, but that is the beauty of PC! And that is only a small amount of what is available to students each year.

I encourage you to not take my word for how great PC is, but to visit the campus and see for yourself. If you have any questions, please give me a call or send me an e-mail and I will be happy to help you in any way that I can. Good luck during your search for your college "home."
