Angie Miller

"Safety was one of my major concerns as Zach traveled four hours away from home for an undergraduate education. I have been very satisfied with the safety and environment as he studied this year. If I did not already have a permanent home, I would love to make Clinton and its surrounding area a place of residence. I feel comfortable when I visit him during the school year because the community seems so connected and caring for each other."

-Angie Miller, Nichols, SC (son-Zach Williams '09)

Campus Housing

Once a student has been accepted and decides to attend PC, a $300 deposit will reserve the student’s space in the freshman class. The deposit is refundable until May 1, except for early decision applicants (January 31 deadline).

First year students who have paid the $300 deposit will receive a housing questionnaire and residence hall policy. First year room assignments are made by the Office of Residence Life and are based on each student’s housing questionnaire. Any requests for roommates or a particular residence hall will be considered and honored when possible. After the first year, each student selects his or her roommate and residence hall via a lottery system.

PC has four residence halls for women, three for men, and four that are co-educational by floor. The college has two living-learning halls on campus, Carol International House and Senior Hall; these buildings expose their residents, as well as the entire campus, to exceptional programming. For seniors, the college offers townhouse location as well as accommodations in the apartment-style Senior Hall and the Scottish Arms.

Each room is equipped with single beds, dressers, desks, and chairs. Telephone jacks, cable television hookups, and computer ports also are located in each room. PC does allow various electrical equipment to be brought by a student (i.e. television, stereo, etc.).

Students are responsible for the up keep of their rooms, including bathrooms in suite arrangements. Vacuum cleaners are available in each residence hall, but other cleaning material must be provided by the student.

All of Presbyterian College’s residence halls are electronically locked twenty-four hours every day, and all resident students receive a card that allows access into all residence halls during visitation hours. Room keys and access cards are issued upon arrival to campus.

Each residence hall is supervised by an area coordinator and a live-in Senior Resident Assistant. Each floor has its own live-in Resident Assistant. These staff members and students are dedicated to meeting the personal needs of PC’s resident students. They are also trained to assist in certain safety related issues.

Dining Services

All resident students may choose a meal plan offering either 17 or 19 meals per week. These students have the option to eat their meals in Greenville Dining Hall or in the Springs Grill. The food service provided in Greenville Dinning Hall is operated by Sodexo Corporation.

Alcohol Policies

Presbyterian College seeks to educate students concerning the dangers involved in the use of beverage alcohol. Presbyterian College recognizes the social problems inherent in the misuse of alcohol and views such misuse as being detrimental to the educational purposes of the College. Recognizing that the use of alcohol is ultimately a matter of personal decision, the College seeks to provide a social atmosphere on campus that develops individual responsibility free from peer pressure. Through administrators, faculty, counselors, and concerned students, Presbyterian College provides strong support to those students who make a moral or health decision to abstain.

Guided by a sense of responsibility to each student to provide an environment that is conducive to study and that fosters good physical and mental health, the College has adopted the following policies on alcoholic beverages.

  1. Drunkenness as a result of the use of alcohol is a violation of the alcohol policy and punishable through the Judicial System. No immunity or exemption is granted for misconduct while under the influence of alcohol. Mature judgment and discretion are required at all times.
  2. Consumption of alcohol is permitted at the social court area by students of legal age with the following stipulations:
  • All students must have their PC ID card readily available while present at the social court.
  • No alcohol is allowed at any fraternity or sorority recruitment functions that are held on or off campus.
  • Kegs (common containers) are not allowed on campus. Organizations are not allowed to sell or give away alcoholic beverages.
  • To attend a registered event at the social court, students must have a blue dot sticker.
  1. Any use of alcohol on campus must be on a bring-your-own basis or third party vendor for those of legal age.
  2. Alcohol may be possessed and consumed in residence hall rooms by students of legal age when both occupants of the room are of legal age.
  3. The possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages on campus by students under the age of 21 is not permitted
  4. Consumption of alcoholic beverages in hallways and lobbies of dorms, in classrooms, in the library, in the campus center, on campus grounds, or at athletic events is prohibited.
