See photos from an Evening in Anderson
A big Blue Hose thank you goes to all who attended and helped make An Evening in Anderson last night a great success. Over fifty guests gathered at the home of Richard and Rachelle Shirley ‘76 for a lovely affair.
PC family joined on the early spring evening beside a sunlit porch to enjoy lovely hors d’ oeuvres and beverages and hear a message from special guests President John Griffith and men’s basketball head coach Gregg Nibert about exciting campus news.
The formal program included words from a variety of PC faces. David Atchley, new Vice President of Advancement, welcomed hosts Richard and Rachelle Shirley ’76. Host Mr. Richard Shirley gave the invocation and introduced President Griffith.
President Griffith’s message focused on our responsibilities as PC family and friends to extend educational opportunities to the next generation PC. He described the many successes of PC graduates, remarkable building progress, and tasks still to come for facilities, people, and programs. President Griffith’s inspiring words left all gathered with a challenge and a vision for the future.
As the Blue Hose look ahead, Coach Gregg Nibert shows that PC is ready for the Division I move. In his address, Nibert shared the importance of supporting all programs and the exciting schedule for PC.
The speaking program ended with Richard Shirley’s stirring remarks. He reminded us that our education is a gift that enables us to serve others. Shirley encouraged everyone to recruit new students for PC, participate in the PC fund, be visible at PC events, and help with the science building, scholarships, and faculty compensation.
As guests mingled, graduates of yesterday and today met with faculty and staff, current students, and friends of PC. Thank you to all who worked hard to create such a beautiful occasion including all of the PC faculty and staff involved. We appreciate you for giving of your time and energies to make this night a great success.
