Class of 2004

Laura Cole '04 graduated from the College of Nursing at the Medical University of SC in 2006 with a BS in Nursing.  She is now a registered nurse at MUSC on the Adult Hematology/Oncology Unit.

James "Chap" Day '04 has taken a position with Episcopal Migration Ministries at the Episcopal Church headquarters in New York City. He has also become engaged to Michael J. Mallon, III of Brooklyn College.

Kelley Glenn '04 is selling and leasing commercial real estate in Charleston, SC and all through South Carolina and Georgia with Coldwell Banker Commercial specializing in retail and office development.

Lathem Emily Jenkins '04 of Aiken, SC, and CPT Jason Mance Gordon of Bennettsville, SC, were married on September 1, 2007, in Hopelands Gardens in Aiken. The bride and groom were attended by several PC friends: Jack Jenkins '07 (brother of the bride), Caroline Jenkins McInnis '02 (cousin of the bride), Meredith Lummus '04, Jessica Hales Cook '04, Nancy Hope '04, Amy Autterson Long '03, and Andrea McGavin '04. Rev. Dr. Jeri Parris Perkins performed the ceremony, Matthew Ruffner '03 served as a reader, and ceremony music was provided by Stephen Humphries '08.  The couple enjoyed a wedding trip to Belize and Guatemala. They currently reside in Savannah, GA where Jason, a graduate of College of Charleston and USC School of Law, serves as a JAG attorney at Ft. Stewart in the 3rd Infantry Division and Lathem pursues her MFA in Interior Design at Savannah College of Art & Design

 

Jessica Eunice Lake '04 and Bryon Patrick Jeffcoat were married on July 7, 2007 at New Chapel United Methodist Church in Newberry. The bride, a graduate of Presbyterian College and Columbia College, is a special education teacher at Oak Grove Elementary School in Lexington. The groom, a graduate of the University of South Carolina, is employed with Federated Insurance in Columbia. The couple will reside in Prosperity, SC.

Amanda Kathryn Rogers '04 and Matthew Brian Herndon were married July 7, 2007 at St. Giles Presbyterian Church in Greer. The bride is employed by Lexington School District One as a teacher at Lake Murray Elementary School in Lexington. The groom, a graduate of Clemson University, is employed by Frierson Nurseries in Lexington.

Jennifer Lynn Adams '04 and Patrick Lee Newton were married November 3, 2007. The bride is employed by Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce in Atlanta. The groom graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. He is employed by Launch Technologies of Atlanta.

Jeffrey Leon Littlejohn, Jr. '04 and Tiffany Dawn Garner were married July 7, 2007 at Covenant Baptist Church in Union. The bride is employed with Provident Community Bank in Union and currently attends Spartanburg Community College pursuing a degree in office systems technology. The groom is currently employed with QSI Data Systems in Spartanburg.

Elizabeth Amanda Seif '04 and Calvin Stewart Brown are to be married May 24, 2008 at Central United Methodist Church in Florence. The bride-elect is employed by Columbia Skin Clinic. The groom-elect attended Clemson University and is pursuing a degree in nursing.

Christina Lynn Horne '04 and Zachary Paul Kay '05 are to be married July 12, 2008 at the First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Greenwood, SC.  The bride-elect is employed by Greenwood Surgical Associates and currently pursuing a Masters of Business Administration at the University of South Carolina. The groom-elect is employed by Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Mary Douglass Hayne '04 and Orville Stanley Smith IV are to be married August 16, 2008 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Columbia. The bride-elect will receive a doctorate in pharmacy in May 2008 from the University of South Carolina. The groom-elect is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and is a partner in Welsford & Smith Realty.

Courtney Lauren Horton '04 and Philip Angelo Bernardi '05 are to be married May 17, 2008 at Young Harris Memorial United Methodist Church in Athens. Courtney received her Master of Public Administration from Kennesaw State University. She is employed by the State of Georgia Department of Community Affairs as a Regional Representative. Philip received his Master of Public Administration from The University of Georgia. He is employed by Atlanta Business Bank as a Territory Manager.

 

Class of 2005

Jessica Lynn Parker '05 and Perry Allen Floyd '05 were married June 23, 2007 at St. David Lutheran Church in West Columbia.  Jessica has completed her second year at the University of South Carolina Medical School.  Perry is currently obtaining a master’s degree at the University of South Carolina.

Mary Alice Parker '05 has been promoted to Business Assurance Senior Associate by Moore Colson, CPA. Moore Colson is a full-service public accounting firm located in Atlanta, Georgia, providing tax and assurance services, management consulting services, estate and financial services, lender services and IT audit services. Mary Alice was also nominated for the Firm's 2007 Peak Award of Excellence and is a member of the firm's recruiting team.

Amy Michelle Shaw '05 and Mayes Allen McEntire '03 both of Newberry, were married May 26, 2007. The bride is pursuing a degree in speech pathology at the University of South Carolina. The groom is a graduate of the dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina. He will be completing a residency at Ohio State in endodontics. 

Courtney Chapman Smith '05 graduated with a Masters in Early Childhood Education from the College of Charleston. She was named Outstanding Education student for her program and began teaching kindergarten in Spartanburg County School District 7 in the fall of 2007.

Casey Gault '05 and Chad Spain '05 are to be married April 5, 2008 at Broad Street United Methodist Church in Clinton. The bride-elect is employed by Laurens School District 56 as a special education teacher. The groom-elect is employed by RSC Equipment Rental.

Zachary Hutson Matthews '05 and Bonnie Claire Sawyer are to be married May 31, 2008 at Ridge Spring Baptist Church in Ridge Spring. The bride-elect attended the University of South Carolina-Aiken where she fulfilled her pre-pharmacy requirements and received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of South Carolina. She is presently employed as a pharmacist with Wal-Mart. The groom-elect is presently a teacher and Head Baseball Coach at W. Wyman King Academy.

Matthew Elliott Ruffner '05 and Sarah Elizabeth Conley are to be married May 31, 2008 at St. Andrews Covenant Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, NC. The bride-elect is a graduate of Duke University with a degree in biomedical engineering. She is employed by St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta. The groom-elect is pursuing a Master of Divinity degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta.

Kelley McLaurin Randall '05 and Patrick Jerome Castaneda were married December 29, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church in Clinton. The bride is attending the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy and will graduate with a PharmD in 2009. The groom is a graduate of Lander University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in political science. He is employed by Todd Distributors, Inc. as a sales representative.

Kaysi Pitts McMurray '05 and husband, Philip McMurray, announce the birth of their first child and son, Luke Henry McMurray. Luke was born January 24, 2008.

Julia Merriman Baarcke '05 and Timothy Dale Boeve were married on March 8, 2008 at Lovely Lane Chapel in Saint Simons Island, GA. The bride is a real estate agent for WaterLinks Realty in Seneca, SC. The groom is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and is employed as head professional at Wade Hampton Golf Club in Cashiers, NC. The couple will reside in Clemson, SC.

Adam Culbertson '05 and Tiffany Manry are to be married July 19, 2008 at Walker Hall in Spartanburg. Adam is employed with Costco Pharmacy in Spartanburg. Tiffany is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, Upstate. She is an assistant manager with The Timbers Apartments.

 

Class of 2006

Ashley Kay Harris '06 and Gary Wayne Beecham Jr., both of Chapel Hill, NC, were married June 23, 2007 at Mount Hebron United Methodist Church in West Columbia.  The bride is pursuing a graduate degree in Biostatistics at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. The groom earned his Ph.D. at North Carolina State in Bioinformatics and is a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Miami Institute for Human Genomics. The couple will reside in Chapel Hill, NC.

Blair Seymour '06 and David Bruce McLeod were married on March 3, 2007. Courtney Bell '06, Leigh Stuckey '06, Helen Wrenn '06, Katherine Bryant '07, and Laura Hicklen '07 were bridesmaids. Cameron Heiner '06 was also part of the bridal party. There ceremony was held in Maryville, Tennessee at New Providence Presbyterian Church. After the wedding the couple enjoyed a honeymoon in Los Roques, Venezuala. They currently reside in Nashville, Tennessee. The groom is a 2007 graduate of Vanderbilt.

Holly Katherine Dunlap '06 and Bryan Russell Betsill '01 were married June 30, 2007 at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Piedmont, SC.  The bride is employed as a kindergarten teacher at Bethel Elementary School in Mauldin.  The groom is employed as Product Manager at SYNNEX Corporation in Greenville.

Jennifer Michelle Knox '06 and Dustin Neal McGuirt, both of Indian Land, SC are to be married December 1, 2007 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Indian Land. The bride-elect is employed at Carolina Surgical Clinic in Charlotte. The groom-elect is employed at B&B Distributors in Rock Hill.

Kimberly Ann Moore '06 and Andrew Robert Sheffield are to be married December 29, 2007 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Clinton. The bride-elect is currently employed by Laurens County School District 56. The groom-elect is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in piano. He is currently a graduate student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. The couple will make their home in Kansas City, MO.

Kaylor Keith Arant '06 and Brian Arant '06 announce the birth of their first child, Jacob, born September 21, 2007.  Brian is a student pastor at Junction City United Methodist Church in Junction City, KY, and a seminary student at Asbury Theological Seminary.

Cara Michelle Blanton '06 and Joseph Bryant Puntch are to be married May 31, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Clinton. The bride-elect is a first-grade teacher at Bryson Elementary School in Simpsonville. The groom-elect is a graduate of Erskine College with a degree in business administration. He is branch manager and assistant vice president with Carolina First Bank in Greenville.

Emily Lauren Matthews '06 of Greenville and John Leonard Bugay of Lexington were married December 8, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Greenville. The bride will receive her Masters from the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in May. The groom is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and is employed as a sales manager with Victoria Insurance. The couple will reside in Lexington.

John Matthew Phifer '06 and Katherine Albrecht Cuppia, both of Beaufort, are to be married April 5, 2008 at Sea Island Presbyterian Church. The groom-elect is employed as a superintendent with Beaufort Construction. The bride-elect is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. She is a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch.

Jay Benson ’06 was recently promoted to Consulting Solutions Manager with Blackbaud, Inc., of Charleston, SC.  Jay’s primary responsibilities will include partnering with the consulting and sales team’s to ensure that revenue targets are met while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.  Jay previously served as a Fundraising Systems Consultant, traveling extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada.  He resides in Mount Pleasant, SC.

Aaron James Pretulak '06 and Abby McLaurin Amick are to be married July 19, 2008 at The Episcopal Church of the Advent in Spartanburg, SC.  Aaron is employed as an Account Manager with Carolina Material Handling Services in Duncan.  Abby received her BA degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina in Columbia and a Masters degree in Gifted and Talented Education from Converse College in Spartanburg.  She is employed with Spartanburg County School District Five at Reidville Elementary

Sara Elizabeth McRee '06 and Steven Wesley Ellis were married February 16, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Fairview Presbyterian Church in North Augusta, SC. Ansley McRee Boatman '03 was Matron of Honor. Katy Becker '06, Rebecca Carpenter '06, Katy Falk '06, and Kylene Kieffer '06 were bridesmaids. Rev. Dr. Dan McCall (PC Board of Trustees) married the couple. Sara was given to marriage by her father, Browning McRee '73. The couple currently lives in Columbia, SC.

 

Class of 2007

Gregory Blake Hudson '07 and Margarette Ann Younts, both of Columbia, were married June 9, 2007 at Trenholm Road United Methodist Church.  The groom is working for Fitness Outfitters in Columbia. The bride is a graduate of Winthrop University and teaches 5th grade at Logan Elementary in Columbia while she pursues her Master's Degree in Education.

Amanda Nancy Oates '07 and Ryan Michael Thomas Harper '07 were married July 14, 2007 at Fort Hill Presbyterian Church in Clemson, SC. The couple will live in State College, PA where Ryan will attend Penn State University Graduate School beginning in the fall of 2007.

Jessica Brook Flanagan '07 of Piedmont and James Allen Freeman '07 of Walhalla are to be married November 17, 2007 at Washington Baptist Church in Piedmont. The bride-elect is current pursuing graduate studies at Clemson University while also employed by Community First Bank in Seneca. The groom-elect is currently employed as a real estate agent with RE/MAX Foothills in Greenville.

Alyssa Sarah Tober '07 and Matthew Jeffrey Cogdill '07 are to be married March 8, 2008 at Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church in Lexington. The bride-elect is currently pursuing a doctorate in nursing practice from the Medical University of South Carolina. The groom-elect is pursuing a master's degree in health administration from the Medical University of South Carolina.

Sarah Anne Cash '07 and Zachary Lee Nesbitt '07 were married November 10, 2007 on the beach in Isle of Palms, SC. The bride will be attending graduate school next fall. The groom is employed with Fidelity Investments in Jacksonville, FL.

Erin Rebecca Bailey '07 of Lexington and Michael Richard Dinger '06 of Laurens are to be married April 4, 2008 at Lexington Baptist Church in Lexington. The bride-elect is employed by the S.C. Budget & Control Board in Columbia. The groom-elect is a doctoral student in information systems at Clemson University.

Class of 2008

Sally Sullivan Pyles '08 of Rock Hill and Taylor Duren '08 of Columbia are to be married May 17, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church in Columbia. The bride-elect is currently a student at PC and will graduate in the spring of 2008. The groom-elect, a student at PC, will be a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army after he graduates in the spring of 2008.
