BEN HAY HAMMET SOCIETY

Membership in the Ben Hay Hammet Society is comprised of all members of the classes that have celebrated their 50th class reunion.

In September 1995, the Board of Directors of the Presbyterian College Alumni Association adopted a proposal to change the name of the "Half-Century Club" to the "Ben Hay Hammet Society" to honor the memory of the PC alumnus and long-time college administrator who spent forty years in extraordinary service to his beloved PC.

During his 40-year tenure, Ben Hammet built a comprehensive program of alumni, public relations, and annual giving, and his award-winning publication and information services helped PC rise to national prominence. He was the author of the only published history of PC entitled The PC Spirit: A Centennial History of Presbyterian College.

Mr. Hammet retired in 1989 and continued to maintain a close relationship with the college until his death in 1992.
