Study Biology at PC

From classrooms and laboratories to oceans and deserts, Presbyterian College biology majors see the world in a new way. You will have the opportunity to see biology just down the street, around the world, or both.

Your classmates and faculty will inspire and challenge you. Your classes will be small and intense.   The new biology building, Lassiter Hall, will make labs and time spent in research time you want to spend.

You can join the pre-med and pre-dental programs. You may also enroll in the five-year program with the Duke University School of Forestry and Environmental Science. Students in this program earn a B.S. degree from PC and an M.A. in forestry or environmental science from Duke.

You can study marine biology with the Gulf Coast Marine Laboratory in Ocean Springs, Miss., or at the Duke University Marine Laboratory in Beaufort, N.C. PC students conduct research at the Greenwood Genetics Center during the academic year or at facilities such as the Mount Desert Island Biology Lab in Maine, the Medical University of South Carolina, and the Medical College of Georgia during the summer.
