Cole Named Assistant Sports Information Director At PC
CLINTON, S.C. - Presbyterian College
Director of Athletics Dr. William B. “Bee” Carlton and PC
Director of Sports and Information and Game Operations Brian
Hand announced the hiring of Jon Cole as PC’s new Assistant
Sports Information Director on Monday.
Cole joins the Blue Hose after eight
years with Greensboro College where he served as an
assistant in the Sports Information office with The Pride.
While at GC, Cole was the main contact
for baseball, while also helping to compile statistics for a
multitude of sports.
Cole served as the official scorekeeper
for the 2006 and 2007 USA South women’s lacrosse conference
tournament as well as the 2005 men’s basketball conference
tournament.
Cole’s career experience also includes
serving as a Training Camp intern with the Carolina Panthers
in 2003 and serving as a member of the gameday staff for the
Panthers for the past four years.
During that span, Cole worked with
members of the on-hand media at Panthers’ games, performing
in-game tasks for CBS, Fox and various team radio networks
as well as working with the opponents sidelines in 2004 and
with Carolina’s media guides in 2004 and 2005.
A 2006 graduate of UNC Greensboro, Cole
served as the Media Relations Director and Website Manager
for the Greensboro Generals (ECHL) from 2002-04 and
Greensboro Prowlers (af2) from 2000-03.
A native of Asheboro, N.C., Cole will
assist Hand in the day-to-day duties of the sports
information office at PC. He will be the primary contact for
volleyball, women’s basketball and baseball, but will also
help with all 16 varsity sports at PC.
