WYMAN
& TAYLOR SIGN WITH BLUE HOSE BASEBALL
CLINTON,
SC Jordan Taylor and Jonathan Wyman have signed national letters of intent to play
baseball at Presbyterian College announced today
by head coach Doug
Kovash.
Taylor, a 6-3, 205-pound
pitcher/outfielder is from Iron Mountain, MI where
he plays legion baseball for the Iron Mountain
Golds. In addition, Taylor plays for the Felch
Rangers of the Wischigan League, a combined league
made up of high schools players from the states of
Wisconsin and Michigan.
Last summer Taylor hit .481
with 11 homeruns, four triples, 17 doubles, and 81
RBIs. On the mound, he posted a 9-2 record with
99 strikeouts.
Jordan is a good
left-handed hitter with power, said Kovash.
He will help us immediately on the mound and
will probably see time at designated hitter to
start his career.
Wyman, a 5-9, 185-pound
catcher is from Alpharetta, GA where he plays for
Chattahoochee High School and head coach Tim
Lemons. Currently Wymans high school team
is playing in the Georgia state playoffs with a
26-4 record and is ranked second in the state in
6-A baseball.
During the summer, Wyman
plays for the East Cobb Baseball Organization.
Among his honors he was named a top 20 prospect by
Baseball
America in the state of Georgia, a Fulton
County All-Star, and Georgia Dugout Player of the
Week selection. He is a member of this AAU
National Championship team and AAU Georgia State
Championship team from 1995-2000.
Jonathan reminds me a
lot of Brad Teal (former Blue Hose all-conference
and all-region standout catcher) behind the
plate, said Kovash. He has the ability to
manage the game from behind the plate and has a
great understanding of his pitchers.
