Erskine Defeats Presbyterian for Eighth Win in Last Nine Game

DUE WEST, SC---   Erskine used it’s second walk off home run in the last week to take an exciting 5-4 victory over Presbyterian College on Wednesday.

After Falling behind 1-0 in the top of the second inning, the Fleet answered back with two runs in the bottom of the second as Anthony Passalacqua (East Islip, NY) had an RBI double, then Brian Meholick (Akron, OH) drove him in on a single.  The Blue Hose tied the game the very next inning as Kevin White (Spartanburg, SC) hit a solo home run.  Presbyterian took a 4-2 lead, scoring a run in the fifth and sixth inning.  Trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the eighth, Brett Smagala (Mt. Airy, MD) tied the game up with an RBI single.  Barry Peters (Simpsonville, SC) pitched a scoreless ninth inning to give the Fleet one more chance.  With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Freshman Eric Prevatt (Anderson, SC) hit his eighth home run of the season to give Erskine the 5-4 victory.
