Francis Marion Downs PC 5-1

Florence, SC- Sophomore right-hander Bubba Strickland remained
undefeated on the year as he struck out seven in a 5-1 victory by
Francis Marion University over Presbyterian College, Tuesday (March 13)
in Florence.

The Patriots made short work of PC by putting together a three-run first
inning, and they never looked back.

Jerry Honeycutt was 2-4 for the Patriots with a double and a run-scoring triple in the first inning.  He also scored two runs.  Kyle Pope was 2-3 for FMU with one run scored and an RBI-single in the fifth inning.

Presbyterian (13-13) scored its lone run on a Geno Gosnell (Easley) RBI-ground out in the second inning.  Blue Hose third baseman Brad Hurst (Greer, SC) recorded three hits in five at bats, including a pair of doubles.

Presbyterian starter Brian Prahl (Peachtree City, GA) (0-1) was tagged with the loss, while Strickland improved to 4-0.
