HOSE BASEBALL STANDOUTS WHITE, WARREN, & BARKLEY
NAMED TO ABCA ALL-SOUTH REGION TEAM
CLINTON,
S.C. — Presbyterian
College baseball players Kevin
White, Matt Warren,
and Richard Barkley
have been named to the American Baseball Coaches
Association/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-South Region teams
announced today.

White, a 6-2, 185-pound sophomore outfielder from Spartanburg, S.C., was named to the first team after leading the team and the South Atlantic Conference in batting average (.425). In addition, he tallied 57 runs scored on 90 hits to go along with 18 doubles, four triples, 18 homeruns, and 72 RBI. In the field, he posted a .966 fielding percentage while finishing the year with a .802 slugging percentage, and a .477 on-base percentage. |
For
his efforts, White was named to the All-South Atlantic
Conference first team and was selected to the Food Lion/SAC
All-Tournament team. In addition, he was named the SAC Player
of the week three times during the season. He set several
program single-season records this season for homeruns, total
bases, RBI, slugging percentage, and batting average.
| Warren, a 6-2, 225-pound redshirt junior first baseman from Lexington, S.C., was named to the second team after hitting .403 with a .632 slugging percentage to go along with eight homeruns, and 51 RBI. In addition, he led the team with a 448 putouts and a .985 fielding percentage en route to second team All-South Atlantic Conference and SAC All-Tournament honors. |

Barkley, a 6-1, 165-pound right-handed junior pitcher from Sumter, S.C., was named to the second team after leading the team with a 7-2 record on the mound and a 3.01 ERA. He compiled 90 strikeouts in 107.2 innings pitched while starting 14 games with five complete games and three shutouts. Batters struggled to hit .231 at the plate versus Barkley this season. He was named to the first team All-SAC squad for his efforts and was named SAC Pitcher of the Week on three occasions this past season. |
