CLINTON, S.C. — Presbyterian College sophomore outfielder Kevin White has been named Collegiate Baseball Magazine’s “Louisville Sluggers” National Player of the Week announced today.

He is one of four college baseball players to receive this award this week. Joining White was Ben Stanley of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Brad Sullivan of the University of Houston, and Shaun Reed of Eastern Nazarene College.

White, a 6-2, 185-pound sophomore outfielder from Spartanburg, SC (Spartanburg HS) led the Blue Hose to a 3-2 record this week by hitting six homeruns and 12 RBI’s in five games.  White had two multi-homerun games (game one against Montreat College and Mars Hill College). White also hit .421 on the week with six of his eight hits being homeruns and was 1-for-1 on stolen bases.

For the season, White leads the team in at bats (175), hits (74), homeruns (15), RBI (58), and slugging % (.794).  White is just two homeruns shy of tying the program record for homeruns (17) set by Blue Hose All-American Gene Gobble in 1998.
