EAGLES TAKE GAME
THREE FROM PRESBYTERIAN IN JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn.- The Carson-Newman Eagles won their fifth consecutive game as they took a 12-3 win over the Presbyterian Blue Hose Sunday afternoon at the Silver Diamond Baseball Complex. With the win, the Eagles sweep the series with the Blue Hose and improve to 24-8, 7-2 in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC). Presbyterian falls to 12-19, 4-5 in the SAC. The Eagles were once again impressive at the plate as they pounded out 19 hits, the 20th time in 32 games the Eagles have had at least 10 hits in a game. Jared Hubbard went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, two doubles and three RBIs to lead the Eagles. Heath Mason hit his eighth homerun of the season and Ryan Haun tagged his third homer of the season in Sundays game. Tombo Hite went 4-for-5 for the Blue Hose. Derek Hommel picked up the win on the mound for the Eagles as he pitched all nine innings, scattered eight hits, three earned runs and struck out two batters. |
