BLUE HOSE BASEBALL EVEN RECORD WITH 14-11 WIN 
OVER WEST ALABAMA 

Livingston, AL— The University of West Alabama baseball team looked to get things back on track with its final game of a four-game home stand with Presbyterian on Sunday. The game would see 24 hits and 25 runs, and again it would be the Blue Hose getting the best of it with a 14-11 victory.

Presbyterian (6-6) led 8-1 when the Tigers began to chip away. With the Blue Hose still up 11-7 in the bottom of the eighth inning, UWA’s Chad Case slammed a bases-loaded, two-out double to right centerfield, cutting the lead to a mere one run. However, PC added three more runs in the top of the ninth to put the game out of reach.

Case led the Tiger offensive onslaught, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and four RBI. Martin Jackson added a home run and two RBI while Walt Simmons also hit his second round tripper of the season and drove in two runs. Josh McLaren started strong on the mound for the Tigers, but would eventually yield seven runs on six hits en route to picking up the loss.

Tombo Hite turned in a big day for the Blue Hose, picking up a pair of hits and four RBI. Kevin White contributed four hits, including his third homer of the series, and two RBI. White drove in a total of ten runs during the four-game set. Heath McCutcheon added two hits, including a home run, and two RBI.

Jake Lunnen went six strong innings, allowing a mere one earned run on two hits on his way to picking up is first win of the season.
