BLUE HOSE BASEBALL LISTED AMONG NCAA LEADERS
PC’s Richard Barkley Listed Among NCAA Top Pitchers

CLINTON, S.C. — Senior starting pitcher Richard Barkley (Sumter, SC) is ranked in two categories in the latest NCAA Division II national statistics announced this week.  

Barkley finished the season with a 2.41 ERA and is 36th in nation and tied for 11th in wins with 10 in this week’s NCAA national statistics.  

The Lakewood High School standout finishes his four-year career as one of the best pitchers in modern Blue Hose baseball history.  The preseason ABCA All-American and SAC Tournament MVP selection led the PC staff with a 10-3 record, 2.41 ERA, 99 strikeouts, 108.1 innings pitched, eight complete games, and two shutouts.  This year he also set the single season mark for most wins, most strikeouts, and tied the record for most innings pitched in a season.  Barkley finishes his career tied for third in most wins (23), second in complete games (15), second in innings pitched (302.1), tied for first in shutouts (5), and first in strikeouts (259) and ERA (3.29).

 

Presbyterian College finished the season 27-28 overall and ranked third in the South Region.
