NOBLES SIGNS WITH BLUE HOSE BASEBALL

CLINTON, S.C. — William Nobles has signed to play baseball at Presbyterian College, announced today by 10th-year head coach Doug Kovash.

Nobles, a 6-1, 165-pound outfielder/pitcher, is a native of Mullins, South Carolina where he played for Mullins High School and head coach Tim Felder. This past season, William was named to the HSSR All-State team, All-Region squad, named the “Toast of the Coast” by the Sun News and participated in the North/South All-Star Game.

This past season, he hit .403 with five homeruns, 19 RBI, and 29 runs scored in 72 at-bats. In addition, he posted a .681 slugging percentage, a .476 on-base percentage, and was a perfect 23-for-23 in stolen bases. On the mound he registered a 2.50 ERA in 48.2 innings allowing only 17 earned runs and 42 hits while striking out 79 batters.

He has also been a member of the Mullins Post 89 American Legion team for the past three summers and is a five-year letterwinner at Mullins High School.

“Williams has good speed, solid pitching skills, and has the ability to hit for average and power,” said Kovash.  “His base running skills and ability to get on base will provide him a chance to break into the starting lineup as a freshman.”

Nobles joins Ryan Ariail, Robert Cole, Bryan Cromer, Nick Hoffner, Remington Ross, and Evan Sowell who signed with the Blue Hose earlier this year.
