NOBLES SIGNS WITH BLUE HOSE BASEBALL
CLINTON,
S.C. William Nobles
has signed to play baseball at Presbyterian College, announced
today by 10th-year head coach Doug
Kovash.
Nobles,
a 6-1, 165-pound outfielder/pitcher, is a native of Mullins,
South Carolina where he played for Mullins High School and
head coach Tim Felder. This past season, William was named to the HSSR
All-State team, All-Region squad, named the Toast of the
Coast by the Sun News and participated in the North/South
All-Star Game.
This
past season, he hit .403 with five homeruns, 19 RBI, and 29
runs scored in 72 at-bats. In addition, he posted a .681
slugging percentage, a .476 on-base percentage, and was a
perfect 23-for-23 in stolen bases. On the mound he registered
a 2.50 ERA in 48.2 innings allowing only 17 earned runs and 42
hits while striking out 79 batters.
He
has also been a member of the Mullins Post 89 American Legion
team for the past three summers and is a five-year
letterwinner at Mullins High School.
Williams
has good speed, solid pitching skills, and has the ability to
hit for average and power, said Kovash.
His base running skills and ability to get on base
will provide him a chance to break into the starting lineup as
a freshman.
Nobles
joins Ryan Ariail, Robert
Cole, Bryan Cromer, Nick Hoffner,
Remington Ross, and
Evan Sowell who
signed with the Blue Hose earlier this year.
