HOSE RANKED THIRD IN LATEST NCAA SOUTH REGION POLL
PC Baseball jumps into post-season contention with ranking
CLINTON,
S.C. – With a strong sweep of the South Atlantic
Conference Tournament, the Blue Hose baseball team (27-24)
moved into third place in the South Region.
With the ranking, PC now looks to continue their season
with an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
The
top four teams in the region at the end of the season will
advance to the NCAA Division II Baseball Tournament with
regional play beginning May 15.
In
the SAC Tournament, the Blue Hose won their first tournament
championship while defeating two ranked teams in the South
Region, Tusculum College and SAC regular season champion
Carson-Newman College. The
Pioneers fell one spot in the region to fourth and the Eagles
dropped out of the rankings.
The University of Tampa is the top-ranked team in the region,
followed by Florida Southern College. Following PC is
Tusculum ranked fourth with Nova Southeastern and Lynn
University rounding out the top six teams.
The final region poll and NCAA Tournament bids will be
released next week.
