February 08, 2005 ERSKINE SHUTS OUT BLUE HOSEDUE
WEST, S.C. – Erskine College’s Jon Merrell
pitched a complete game one hitter with nine strikeouts to
lift the Flying Fleet to an 11-0 victory over Presbyterian
College Tuesday afternoon at Grier Field. Erskine
(5-0) scored an early run in the first inning before busting
out for two in the fourth, sixth, and seventh innings. The
Fleet scored four in the bottom of the eighth to set the final
margin. Juan
Seaenz and Brent Davidson had three hits to lead
Erskine at the plate. Russell
Robinson (Mt. Pleasant, SC) had the only hit for PC
(1-3). Andrew
Cockerham (Millers Creek, NC) took the loss for the
Blue Hose. PC will be back in action Wednesday as they travel to Augusta State University for a single game beginning at 2 p.m. weather permitting. |
