March 9, 2005 BOBCATS USE LATE RALLY TO DEFEAT BLUE HOSE 13-5MILLEDGEVILLE,
GA -
Georgia College & State University blew open a close
game with six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to knock
off Presbyterian College 13-5 Wednesday night at John Kurtz
Field. GC&SU (12-10) pounded out 16 hits and took
advantage of four Presbyterian (6-17) GC&SU
jumped on PC starter Rob
McEwen with three runs with two outs in the The
Bobcats led 5-2 after five innings, but the Blue Hose battled
back with DeVeaux
finished 3-for-5 with three RBI, while Caruso was 2-for-5 with
two Hoffner
went 2-for-5 with three RBI, and Matt
Sparrow went
3-for-3 with a Jayson
Bennett
(2-1) picked up the win on the mound for the Bobcats after
tossing his scheduled three innings without allowing a run and
surrendering three hits with three strikeouts. McEwen (0-1)
took the loss for the Blue Hose, allowing four runs, three
earned, on four hits in 3.2 innings. |
