ROLLINS COMPLETES SWEEP OF BLUE HOSE

WINTER PARK, FL  – The Rollins College baseball team (11-4) defeated Presbyterian College (2-10) 17-0 to sweep their four game weekend series. 

Jon Wano picked up his second win of the season, while Dan Stankus recorded the loss. Gene Howard and Chris Munoz led the Tars at the plate with Howard getting four hits and Munoz driving in four. The Tars scored in every inning but the seventh.

13 different players got its for the Tars. Howard led the way with four. Eight different players drove in runs, with Munoz recording four RBI. Munoz and Juan Dieguez each hit their first home runs of the season. Dieguez also added three hits. Matt Anderson, Luis Dieguez, Stefano Foggi, Nick Manson, Gary Martoccio, and Munoz each had two hits, while Mike Crane, Matt Gerber, Jeff Halbert, Brent Magnuson, and Garrett Preisser got one apiece.

Manson also drove in three runs, followed by the Dieguez brothers and Howard who drove in two runs each. Others recording RBI include Anderson, Foggi, and Kevin Schnacke. 

Rollins was just as successful in the field with Wano pitching 6.0 innings, allowing four hits, zero runs, and striking out four. The Tars bullpen once again pitched several scoreless innings to preserve the win. Mario Lombardo gave up one hit in 2.0 innings pitched, while Cloar gave up no hits pitching the eighth. Both pitchers struck out two batters.

 PC will be back in action Tuesday as they host nationally ranked Lander University for a single game beginning at 2:30 pm
