PC'S KEVIN WHITE CONTINUES TO REWRITE THE BLUE HOSE RECORD BOOK

CLINTON, S.C. - Presbyterian College senior centerfielder Kevin White continues rewrite the Blue Hose record book as his stellar career begins to come to an end.

White, a 6-2, 195-pound native of Spartanburg, SC (Spartanburg HS), has helped lead the Blue Hose to a 22-20 overall record and are currently in fifth place in the South Atlantic Conference regular season with a three-game series versus Lenoir-Rhyne College left to play this season.

White, a two-time ABCA All-Region and second team All-American selection in 2002, has continued his assault on the program's career record book. This season White moved into elite company in the Blue Hose history as he became the all-time leader in runs scored (197), hits (302), RBI (200), doubles (57), and total bases (516).
He entered the season as the team's career homerun leader and now has 45 homers to his credit. He has 11 career triples and needs only 1 more to tie former Blue Hose standout Clay Hall (1995-98) for first place. He is also the program's all-time leader in batting average (.383) and slugging percentage (.655), and ranks sixth in on-base percentage (.486).

In NCAA Division II history, White currently ranks sixth in total bases and tied for seventh in hits.
"Kevin continues to amaze me," said head coach Doug Kovash.  "Each day I wake up, another record is broken. Not only does he continue to shatter offensive records on a daily basis, but, he has emerged as our #1 pitcher, one of the best starting pitchers in the league, and has a chance to break a couple of single season records as a pitcher as well. A truly amazing ballplayer who will leave a legacy that will be hard to match."

This season he is hitting .404 at the plate with 43 runs scored, 14 doubles, four triples, nine homeruns, 37 RBI, and 108 total bases. He also has a .740 slugging percentage and a .486 on-base percentage. He currently ranks second in batting average and runs scored in the South Atlantic Conference, sixth in RBI, tied for fourth in doubles, tied for second in triples and total bases, and fourth in homeruns.  On the mound, White has compiled a team-best seven wins against three losses with a 4.28 ERA in 61.0 innings of work. He currently leads the SAC in wins (7) and is seventh in ERA (4.28).
