BLUE
HOSE BLANK ANDERSON 4-0 TO PICK UP THIRD STRAIGHT WIN
CLINTON, S.C.
- The Presbyterian College Blue Hose held the visiting
Anderson University Trojans scoreless to pick up their third
straight win Thursday afternoon at the PC Baseball Complex.
With today's 4-0 victory the Blue Hose improve to 4-5 on the
season while Anderson falls to 3-6.
Starting pitcher Eric
Tatum, a sophomore from Buford, Ga., allowed only
three hits and struck out six in his seven innings of work
on the way to his first win of the season. This improves
Tatum's record to 1-1 on the season. Sophomore Kevin Young
(1-1) receives the loss for Anderson.
PC got on the board quickly, scoring two quick runs in the
first inning. Sophomore catcher
William Bolochoz (Mt. Pleasant, S.C.) hit a grounder
to the shortstop and scored fellow sophomore
Russell Robinson
(Mt. Pleasant, S.C.). Then senior
Nick Hoffner (Elcott
City, Md.) reached second on an error by second baseman Tony
Graham, which in turn scored sophomore
Josue Scott
(Columbus, Ga.).
The Blue Hose extended their lead to four in the bottom of
the Scott and Hoffner both scored on a pass ball thrown by
the second baseman.
The Blue Hose out-hit the Trojans 11-6. Scott led the Blue
Hose at the plate with three hits and one run scored in four
appearances at the plate. Freshman Blair Carson led the
Trojans at the plate with two hits in three appearances at
the plate.
Senior left-hander Robert Cole
came in to finish up the game for Tatum and receives the
save. He also only allowed three hits in his two innings of
work. Cole left the bases loaded as he struck out senior
outfielder Creg Green to finish out the game.
The Blue Hose will travel on Saturday, February 18 to face
Benedict College at 2:00 p.m.
