PC answered back in the bottom of the inning with a two run shot sent over the left field fence by sophomore Josue Scott (Columbus, Ga). Mars Hill jumped back out in front with a two run shot of their own hit by Matt Russell. They hen scored another run on a Lee Blalock sacrifice fly. PC was only able to muster one more run when senior Matt Bodie (Aiken, S.C.) scored on a fielders’ choice hit by Lyda. Mars Hill sealed the deal in the sixth when they batted around scoring six more runs on five hits to set the final score at 14-3. The highlight of the inning was Jason Yelton’s RBI double sent down the left field line. Russell led Mars Hill and all batters with three hits and five RBI. Bodie was the only other batter to pick up three hits leading PC at the plate. Mars Hill starter Nathan Fritz picked up the win, while PC starter Daniel Hill (Matthews, N.C.) received the loss.
