PC Releases 2008 Baseball
Schedule
CLINTON, S.C. –
Presbyterian College head baseball coach Elton Pollock
announced PC’s inaugural NCAA Division I baseball schedule
on Monday. The schedule will feature 15 home games,
including a home opener against the Charlotte 49ers on
Tuesday, Feb. 26.
“I could not wait to release our first NCAA Division I
schedule,” said Pollock. “I think it is something that will
excite Blue Hose baseball fans. It is a demanding schedule,
but I feel that we have a great chance to compete in every
game against the highest level of competition. This schedule
will help us out tremendously as we prepare for Big South
Conference play in the 2009 season.”
PC’s home slate also includes a two-game series with the Ivy
League’s Yale on March 18 and 19. Presbyterian will close
out its home schedule with a game against Upstate rival
Furman at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30 at the PC Baseball
Complex.
The game with the Paladins will be senior day.
PC’s schedule also features high level road games with the
Blue Hose facing schools from the Big South, the Atlantic
10, the Atlantic Sun, the SoCon, the MAAC, the MAC, the Ivy
League, Conference USA, the Big 10, the SEC and the ACC.
The Blue Hose will tangle with two teams from the tough ACC,
squaring off against Clemson at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday,
April 23. PC will also travel to Virginia Tech to face the
Hokies in a doubleheader set to begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday,
May 4.
PC will also battle with the University of Tennessee at 3
p.m. on Sunday, March 12.
Presbyterian College’s baseball schedule also gives the Blue
Hose the chance to play the best from the state of South
Carolina as the Blue Hose will face seven teams from the
Palmetto state in 2008 (The Citadel, Clemson, Coastal
Carolina, Charleston Southern, Furman, USC Upstate and
Wofford).
