PC Loses Road Contest To Coker

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker Baseball Team extended their winning streak to seven games on Tuesday afternoon as they defeated the Blue Hose of Presbyterian College, 9-4.

Coker improves to 17-24 overall with the win, while PC falls to 16-30 overall.

For PC, Cory Lyda (Simpsonville, S.C.), Jesse Harmon (Newberry, S.C.) and Bobby Holmes (Quinton, Va.) each had two hits.

Lyda finished his efforts with a double and an RBI and Holmes had a double.

The Cobras reached base safely 18 times with five players collecting multiple hits.

Three Coker pitchers held the Blue Hose to just four runs and nine total hits.

Kyle Strickland (2-3) earned his second win in the last two games, starting the game and going three scoreless innings and allowing just three hits.

Zach Snipes (2-1) took the loss, allowing six runs on seven hits in three innings of work.

Leading hitters for Coker were Steven Evans, Eric Losten and Brian Johanson. Evans was 4-for-5 with a run scored, while Losten was 3-for-5 with an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases.

Johanson finished 3-for-5 with three runs scored.

The Blue Hose next welcomes Erskine College at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4 at the Presbyterian Baseball Complex.
