Combs Named To SCBL All-Star Game

CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College baseball player Jared Combs has bounced back strongly from the hand injury that sidelined him from most of the 2007 season this summer, making the Southern Collegiate Baseball League’s All-Star team as a member of the Tennessee Tornados who are based in Johnson City, Tenn.

The only player on the roster to play in all 36 games for the Tornados, Combs has amassed a .287 batting average in 108 at-bats. A participant in the 2007 SCBL Home Run Derby, Combs has also tallied a team-best 21 RBIs on 31 hits over the course of the SCBL season.

A transfer from Armstrong Atlantic State University, Combs entered the 2007 PC baseball season as the starter at shortstop, but after a strong first three games was injured at home in a win over Anderson University on Sunday, Feb. 4.
