      CPC's Holmes Hits Home Run In Loss To Erskine

DUE WEST, SC –
Erskine defeated Presbyterian College
17-1 in non-conference baseball action on Wednesday
afternoon.

Erskine recorded 23 hits in the game, including eight
for extra bases.

Presbyterian took the early lead, when Bobby Holmes
hit a solo home run in the top of the second inning to
give PC a 1-0 lead.

The Blue Hose would remain on top until the bottom of
the fourth when Ryan Price put Erskine on the board
with a solo home run to tie the game at 1-1.

Senior Shelton Cisson broke the tie with a two run
home run the very next inning, and the Fleet would
send 13 more batters to the plate, scoring nine more
runs in the stanza to put the game out of reach for
the Blue Hose.

Cisson would also add an RBI double in the inning.
Erskine would add five more runs in the eighth inning
that were capped off by back to back doubles from Chas
Anthony and Cisson.

Price led the Fleet at the plate, going 5-for-5 for
the second time this season with a home run, double
and three RBIs.

Anthony finished the game 4-for-6 with a double and an
RBI, while Cisson was 3-for-6 with two doubles and
four runs brought to the dish.

Catcher William Bocholz ended the day 2-for-4 from the
plate for the Blue Hose.

Presbyterian returns to the diamond tomorrow for a
scheduled doubleheader against Benedict at the PC
Baseball Complex. First pitch in the two seven inning
games is set for 1 p.m.
