MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The No. 8 Georgia College & State University baseball team (35-9) hit double-digit runs for the third-straight contest, pounding out 17 hits in a 16-5 win over Presbyterian College (16-33) on Tuesday afternoon at Kurtz Field.

Six Bobcat batters had multi-hit contests, including 3-for-5 efforts from both Brandon Anderson (Wayland, Mass./Wayland/Gloucester County Coll.) and Chandler Snell (Loganville, Ga./South Gwinnett).

Snell also tagged his first career home run in the eighth, a line-drive shot that cleared the fence in left.

The Bobcats bookended the game, scoring five runs in the first two frames and 11 more in their final two at-bats.

Down 5-0 in the fifth, the Blue Hose mounted a rally as Robinson singled and later scored on a groundout.

Presbyterian brought the game to a 5-4 score in the sixth when designated hitter Casey Carlson (Lexington, S.C.) ripped a two-run blast to center and Robinson added an RBI double later in the inning.

With the tying run on second, senior reliever Matt Howard (Buford, Ga./North Gwinnett/Lincoln Memorial Univ.) obtained a pop-out to get out of the jam.

Howard (6-0) also shut the Blue Hose down over the next two innings to pick up the win, allowing just three hits over 2 2/3 innings.

PC’s Eric Tatum dropped to 3-4 with the loss, giving up eight earned runs in six innings.

The Blue Hose next travel to Charlotte, N.C. at 6 p.m. on Wednesday to face off against the 49ers.
