Rhinesmith Signs With Blue Hose Baseball

CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College head baseball coach Elton Pollock announced the signing of Zac Rhinesmith out of Young Harris Junior College on Thursday.

"Zac Rhinesmith brings a wealth of experience to the Blue Hose baseball middle infield,” noted Pollock. “His undeniable leadership was evident this season as he helped lead his team to the Junior College World Series in Grand Junction, Colo. With the ability to hit for average and power, Zac projects to hit somewhere in the middle of the order and be an immediate impact player for the Blue Hose. I am pleased to have him on board."

The son of Deanne and Chip Rhinesmith, the Acworth, Ga. native earned his associates degree from Young Harris where he played for Rick Robinson and attended from 2005-07.

Rhinesmith hit .310 with Young Harris in 2007, collecting 45 RBIs. The team’s captain, Rhinesmith scored 47 runs during the course of the campaign, while also hitting 11 doubles and swiping 11 stolen bases to go along with his five home runs.

Rhinesmith played his high school baseball at Harrison High School for Mark Elkins. He was the captain of the Harrison baseball team and was awarded Defensive Player of the Year plaudits at the conclusion of his senior year.
