PC Falls 15-9 To
Savannah State On Thursday Afternoon
SAVANNAH, Ga. – Presbyterian College
dropped a 15-9 decision to NCAA Division I opponent Savannah
State on Thursday afternoon in non-conference baseball
action at Tiger Field.
Presbyterian falls to 16-34 with the
loss, while Savannah State improves to 24-16.
The designated hitter in the contest,
PC’s Casey Carlson (Lexington, S.C.) led the Blue Hose in
the game. Carlson finished 2-for-3 from the dish with two
RBIs and three runs scored.
Carlson was one of three Blue Hose to
record multiple hits in the loss.
Andrew Cockerham (Millers Creek, N.C.),
who played second base in the game and pitched as well, went
2-for-4 from the plate with two RBIs and a run scored.
Kemper Booth (Hendersonville, N.C.) was
2-for-3 on the day with an RBI.
The Tigers had two players conclude the
game with three hits in Christopher Phethan and Jonathan
Ross. Phethan was 3-for-5 with an RBI, while Ross was
3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
The Blue Hose next welcome Wingate
University to the PC Baseball Complex for their final home
series of the year. The Blue Hose and Bulldogs will begin
the series with a twinbill starting at 12 p.m. on Saturday
and then end the three-game set with a 1 p.m. game on
Sunday, April 15.
The game on Sunday will be Senior Day
at the PC Baseball Complex and the Blue Hose will honor
senior’s Ross Ellis and Kemper Booth.
