In his first year with the Blue Hose, Frazier coached the 2006 South Carolina Male Athlete-of-the-Year in Marcus Brisbone, who as an offensive guard averaged over 94% grade-outs per game in the 2005 season. The Sumter, S.C. native did not allow a sack or a pressure the entire year, helping him to earn numerous All-American accolades.

During the fall of 2004, Frazier coached defensive line at his alma mater, Williams High School in Burlington, N.C. Prior to joining the WCU staff, he spent the 2003 season on the Elon University Phoenix football staff, serving as the team’s defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator.

Before joining the Elon staff, he was a graduate assistant coach at the University of North Carolina for three years (2001-03), spending the 2001 and ’02 seasons as the Tar Heels’ assistant offensive line coach. He also served as a defensive graduate assistant for the Tar Heels in 1996. During his four years at UNC, the Tar Heels won the 1996 Gator Bowl and the 2001 Peach Bowl.

In addition to his college experience, Frazier spent six years coaching high school football in both North Carolina and Louisiana. His career began as an assistant at his alma mater, Williams High School, in Burlington, N.C., from 1991 to 1993. He spent the 1997 and 1998 seasons coaching the defensive line at Jesuit High School in New Orleans, during which time the Blue Jays won the District 9-5A championship in 1997 and advanced to the state semifinals both years. In 1999, Frazier returned to Williams to coach the defensive line. The Bulldogs posted a 15-1 record that year, capturing the North Carolina 3-A state championship.

Frazier received his B.S. degree in biology from Guilford College in 1993. He earned his master’s degree in cell and molecular biology from Tulane University in 1996. He is married to the former Amy Wilson of Burlington, N.C. and the couple have one son, Max, who is one.
