Scott
Frazier begins his second season as an assistant coach at Presbyterian
College where he will work with the offensive line and serve as the
program’s recruiting coordinator.
In his first year
with the Blue Hose, Frazier coached the 2006 South Carolina Male
Athlete-of-the-Year in Marcus Brisbone, who as an offensive guard
averaged over 94% grade-outs per game in the 2005 season. The
Sumter, S.C. native did not allow a sack or a pressure the entire
year, helping him to earn numerous All-American accolades.
Frazier
came to PC from Western Carolina University. He joined the Catamount
staff in the spring of 2004 while serving as the team’s recruiting
coordinator and coached running backs and tight ends.
During
the fall of 2004, Frazier coached defensive line at his alma mater,
Williams High School in Burlington, N.C. Prior to joining the WCU
staff, he spent the 2003 season on the Elon University Phoenix
football staff, serving as the team’s defensive line coach and
recruiting coordinator.
Before
joining the Elon staff, he was a graduate assistant coach at the
University of North Carolina for three years (2001-03), spending the
2001 and ’02 seasons as the Tar Heels’ assistant offensive line
coach. He also served as a defensive graduate assistant for the Tar
Heels in 1996. During his four years at UNC, the Tar Heels won the
1996 Gator Bowl and the 2001 Peach Bowl.
In
addition to his college experience, Frazier spent six years coaching
high school football in both North Carolina and Louisiana. His career
began as an assistant at his alma mater, Williams High School, in
Burlington, N.C., from 1991 to 1993. He spent the 1997 and 1998
seasons coaching the defensive line at Jesuit High School in New
Orleans, during which time the Blue Jays won the District 9-5A
championship in 1997 and advanced to the state semifinals both years.
In 1999, Frazier returned to Williams to coach the defensive line. The
Bulldogs posted a 15-1 record that year, capturing the North Carolina
3-A state championship.
Frazier
received his B.S. degree in biology from Guilford College in 1993. He
earned his master’s degree in cell and molecular biology from Tulane
University in 1996. He is married to the former Amy Wilson of
Burlington, N.C.
and the
couple have one son, Max, who is one.
