Getting to Know the Blue Hose

Featuring PC Women’s Cross Country and Cheerleading Senior Kathryn Gregory

Kathryn joined the cross-country team this fall to go along with her responsibilities on the Blue Hose cheerleading squad where she has lettered four years.  She has been a consistent contributor all season long for Presbyterian, turning in top 20 performances at both the Asics Winthrop Invitational and the Lander Invitational where the team finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.  Gregory posted her personal best time of 21:16 at the Blue Hose Invitational as she finished 20th overall.

What is your favorite food?

My grandma’s macaroni and cheese and chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Going shopping

What made you decide to take on both cheerleading and cross-country, has it been difficult to balance both with school?

I love to stay busy and stay involved in different things.  I ran cross-country in high school and really started to miss it and I knew this would be my last year to do it.  It helps me to have a set schedule and a lot to do.  I wouldn’t know what do if I didn’t always have something going on.

Why did you choose to come to PC?

I am from a small town and a small school so this is what I am used to.  My brother also attended PC so I found out about it from him.  I also like that it is close to home and everyone is so friendly on campus.

Where is your favorite vacation spot?

Anywhere with a beach

Where do you see yourself in five years?

Hopefully finished with school because I plan on going to more school after I graduate from PC.

What class has been your favorite at PC?

Biology my freshman year with Dr. Hudson because I really like biology and that’s what made me want to major in it.

Do you have a favorite movie?

The Little Mermaid

Did you play any other sports in high school?

I played soccer, ran track and was on the basketball team even though I didn’t get to play much.
