RAYFORD NAMED SAC PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK
Sophomore Guard Leads Blue Hose To 2-1 Week
ROCK
HILL, SC Presbyterian guard Chuck
Rayford (Greenville, SC/Greenville HS) has been
named the South Atlantic Conference Player-of-the-Week.
The sophomore averaged 22 points and 3.3 rebounds
per game as the Blue Hose won two of their three games
during the week.
In Presbyterian's two wins,
the Greenville native scored 26 points against USC
Spartanburg with five assists, and followed that with 23
points in an overtime win over USC Aiken.
He hit 10 of 11 free throws in the overtime
period to guide the Blue Hose to the win in the SAC-PBC
Clash. He
also finished the game with five assists, five rebounds
and four steals in the win.
He finished the week with
17 points and three assists against Lander, in the final
game of the SAC-PBC Clash.
For the season, Rayford is
averaging 24.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per
game. He is shooting 50% from the field, 82.1% from the free throw
line, and 42.9% from behind the three point line.
The Player-of-the-Week
award is determined by a vote of the South Atlantic
Conferences eight Sports Information Directors.
