BLUE HOSE RANKED IN NCAA DIVISION II NATIONAL STATISTICS

CLINTON, SC — Presbyterian College’s basketball teams rank among the national leaders in this week’s NCAA Division II statistics.

On the men’s side, the team moved up three spots to 8th in the nation in scoring defense allowing only 62.6 points per game. The Blue Hose lead the SAC in scoring defense and rebound margin (+6.3).

The women’s basketball team, led by junior wing Toni Leopard (Ninety-Six, SC), currently leads the nation (NCAA Division II) in free throw percentage at 90.2% for the second consecutive week. Leopard, a former Ninety-Six High School standout, is second on the team in scoring at 13.5 points per game and is one of two players this season to surpass the 1,000-point plateau in their career.

In addition, senior forward/center Rachel Sloan (Greenville, SC) is 47th in NCAA Division II in scoring at 17.4 points per game. The former Carolina Academy standout is this week’s South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week and moved into fourth place in SAC history in career scoring at 1,740 points.
