FISHER NAMED PC MENS
BASKETBALL
ASSISTANT COACH
Former Conway H.S. coach
returns to Blue Hose basketball staff
CLINTON,
S.C. Ronny Fisher, a 1990 graduate of Furman University
who currently serves as assistant basketball coach at
North Greenville College, has been named assistant
mens basketball coach at Presbyterian College.
The announcement was made today by mens
basketball head coach Gregg Nibert. Fisher will assume
the position immediately, replacing Bruce Evans who has
served as assistant coach for the last three seasons.
Evans will take a similar position at Gardner-Webb
University in Boiling Springs, N.C.
We are pleased to have a outstanding coach like
Ronny Fisher return to the Blue Hose basketball
program, Nibert said. Ronny and his family will be
a valuable addition to Presbyterian College.
Fisher, a native of Asheville, N.C., has served as
an assistant basketball coach at North Greenville
College for the last three seasons under former Blue
Hose assistant coach Dave Conrady.
Fisher is a 1990 graduate of Furman University
where he received his bachelors of arts degree in
Physical Education. He also began his coaching career
with the Paladins, serving as a student assistant coach
under former Blue Hose head coach Butch Estes. Fisher is
currently working on his masters degree.

great basketball program like the one at Presbyterian
College has, said Fisher.
After finishing at Furman, Fisher served as an
assistant basketball coach at Presbyterian College from
1990 to 1993. After leaving PC, Fisher was named head
coach at Conway High School in Conway, S.C., at position
he held from 1993-1997. During his tenure with the
Tigers, he compiled a 47-52 record including leading the
1993-94 team to the state playoffs quarterfinals.
Fisher,
32, is married to the former Julie Dickerts of Taylors,
S.C. and the couple have two children, Harrison two
years old and Sydney, six months old.
