SCULLY SIGNS WITH BLUE HOSE
MENS HOOPS
CLINTON,
S.C. Matt Scully, has signed a national letter of intent to play
basketball at Presbyterian College announced today by
eleventh-year head coach Gregg
Nibert.
Scully, a 6-1 guard from Atlanta, Georgia, helped
Marist High School to the 1999-2000 3-A State
Championship with a 28-2 record. During his four-year
career with the War Eagles, Scully helped the program
amass a 93-15 overall record, the second best four-year
mark in school history. Scully averaged 8.0 points, 6.3
assists, shot 74.7% from the charity stripe and led the
team in steals his senior year. He was named the
teams Best Defender while being named DeKalb
Tip-off Player of the Month in January and DeKalb
3-A Player of the Month during his senior year.
We are pleased to sign a player of Matts
caliber to our program, said Nibert.
He is a excellent player on the court and we
look forward to his contributions for the next four
years.
Scully
becomes the fourth signee for Presbyterian, who are
coming off of the 1999-2000 campaign which saw them
compile a 12-15 overall record including a 10-6 record
in the South Atlantic Conference. The conference mark
was good for third in the league which extends the Blue
Hose streak to 10 seasons they have finished in the
top-three in the league.
Richard
Adams (Columbia, S.C.), Andrew
Dellinger (Strasburg, VA), and Ben
Touchberry (Blacksburg, S.C.) signed national
letters of intent earlier this year.
