UNIVERSITY CLINTON,
SC Presbyterian College sophomore guard Chuck Rayford (Greenville, SC) scored
a career-high 33 points to lead the Blue Hose to a 80-67 win
over Allen University Saturday night. The Blue Hose came out on
fire, shooting 56.3% from the field in the first half

of Allen University were equal to the task, shooting 54.2%
from the field and five-of-nine from beyond the arc. PC staked
out a 45-32 lead going into intermission thanks in part to
Rayfords 18 first half points. PC opened the second half
on a 9-6 run to take a 54-38 lead with 15:00 remaining only to
see the Yellow Jackets go on a 10-2 run in the next two and
half minutes to cut the lead to 56-48 with 12:29 remaining.
The Blue Hose kept the lead in the double figures the rest of
the way, but could not pull away from Allen due to the hot
three-point shooting by the Yellow Jackets. Allen made one last run at
the 2:17 mark to cut the lead to 76-69 as sophomore guard Glen Collier (Philadelphia,
PA) hit his fifth three-pointer of the game. Rayford iced the
game with a pair of free throws at the :24 mark to give the
Blue Hose the first win of the season. Rayford led the Blue Hose

shot 46.9%. The Yellow Jackets were led
by Colliers team-high 20 points on five-of-eight shooting
from beyond the arc while senior guard Dewayne
